Do you remember Live-Aid from the summer of 1985?

From Band-Aid - Do They Know it's Christmas to We are the World, it was a year that stood the 80s on it's head.

the 80s was all about money, fashion and fame! but, Live-Aid was all about giving and caring for your fellow man.

This is the first time I have seen Live-Aid in a few years, and it always has an impact on me.

Freddy Mercury gave one of the finest performances of his career. Awe, heck, everybody was there. I can't think of any of the top performers who did not play on one continent or the other.

So, thank you Bob Geldoff, and all the other acts and people involved with the event. It's impact will last for centuries. I would be proud to have future generations studying the 20th century, to learn about, or at least, be able to enjoy and appreciate this event.

I highly recommend the DVD for yourself or as a gift for an 80s kid or for your own kids. And, the proceeds from the DVD sales tstill go to help starving children in Africa and around the world, which is still something that is essential to the future of all of us.

The 80s clothes were about a feeling great and having good time. Tight jeans are back, off-shoulder sleeves are visible in most teen fashions, mixed up colors are back, dark color big bangles are back as well, don't forget the flat pumps that young girls wear today, all from the 80s.

Back in the 1980s, music culture was very different! In contrast to punks the wearers made an effort to look flamboyant in an attractive, luxuriant, beautiful, narcissistic way. Power dressing, New Romantics, sportswear and stretch dressing gave the women of the 80s a wide choice of fashion trend to follow.

Eighties fashion is almost as big as it was in the 1980s, but the question remains ? 80s fashion is generally derided, but in retrospect, I am starting to think it was possibly the most stylish recent decade fashion-wise.

Eighties fashion had spontaneity, and thinner people to wear it. Eighties fashion, more than that of any other decade, was concerned with status, power and glamor. The fashion of the eighties is coming back into mainstream American pop culture. In fact, it never really left.

Madonna is as popular today, if not more so, than she was twenty years ago. Not only is there a continuing interest in Madonna, but critics have recently rated her latest album 5 stars.

Well, the critics may love it, but how about you and I. Myself, being a total 80s kid, I miss the pre-90s Madonna.

But the new Madonna is still breaking social barriers for women and giving girls the hope to break through the glass ceiling to realize their full potential in their creative and work lives. In short, Maddona's still totally cool!

1. Madonna was born Madonna Loise Veronica Ciccone.

2. She was the third child and eldest daughter of lower-middle class Italian American parents Silvio and Madonna.

4. Madonna was born on August 16, 1959 - making her a Leo. The Lion is considered to be generous and warmhearted, creative and enthusiastic, broad-minded and expansive, faithful and loving.

Big hair and bright clothes were all topped off with blue mascara and blue eyeliner, the darker the better. Popular colors were neon green and hot pink as well as the brighter varieties of orange and yellow.Another '80s fad was jackets and trousers, made of rayon and velvet and satin, in shades of hot pink, neon blue and candy-apple red.

The 80's, was the time fashion was really integrated into the music scene. It was a time when it wasn't just about the music, but about setting trends.The clothes were Hollywood vintage store cool, but nobody really wore all that stuff together. 80s clothes that are vintage or vintage inspired keep coming back into fashion.

Sweaters were big, baggy and bat-winged. Some of the Yuppy fashion trends included the sweater over the shoulders, Izod shirts, and polo shirts. Some other 80s clothes that were big were the Members only jacket which was a must have.

The movies of the 1980s decade were very often a way to "lighten up" at the movies. An 80s movie will have great 80s music and a happy ending. John Hughes movies, for example always leave you feeling good at the end.

Many of the most loved movies of the 80s such as Ground Hog Day or National Lampoon's Vacation are just awesome movies to watch if you're having an off day.

There were many classic dramas in the 80s like Scarface or The Godfather Part, no doubt. But many of the most memorable are eighties films like Back to the Future and Peggy Sue Got Married were light and happy affairs.

The 1980s decade was a colorful time and it showed in the movies, with sometimes outlandish outfits and 80s character costumes stealing the scene. The movies and television shows of the 1980s are loaded with examples of eighties fashions.
