Description

Up for your consideration is a lot of two vintage LP 33 RPM a;bums.  The first is the 1982 release “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, while the second is the 1984 release of “Victory” by the Jacksons, which is a compilation of different songs sung by different Jackson performers, including Michael.

The Thriller album has an Epic label, a jacket that has all the lyrics in each song and the folding album cover, featuring Michael Jackson in a white blazer and pants displaying a sultry look into the camera.  The inside shows Michael in the same clothes and pose, but shows a baby tiger climbing over his knee.  The back shows a list of the songs in the album.

The Victory LP album is on “The Official Jacksons Picture Disc” by the Jacksons, includes the original plastic cover and front sticker.  The picture covers the entire record, featuring the six Jackson performers on the front in a nighttime background and the group name (Jacksons) encircling the top.  The back also filling the entire album, shows a space scene, with a castle floating in the sky, and what looks to be a planet surface on the bottom and bright stars in the sky, all in a very dark motif.

Songs on the Thriller LP include (all with lyrics):

  1. Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’?
  2. Baby, Be Mine
  3. The Girl Is Mine (with Paul McCartney)
  4. Thriller
  5. Beat It
  6. Billie Jean
  7. Human Nature
  8. P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)
  9. The Lady In My Life
And on the Victory album:
  1. “Torture”, performed by Michael and Jermaine (co-lead)
  2. “Wait”, performed by Janet Jackson
  3. “One More Chance”, performed by Randy Jackson
  4. “Be Not Always” , performed by Michael Jackson
  5. “State of Shock”, performed by Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger
  6. “We Can Change the World” , performed by Tito Jackson
  7. “The Hurt”, performed by Randy Jackson
  8. “Body”, performed by Marlon Jackson

Both records look very good, with most of the wear showing on the plastic and cardboard covers or jackets.  The Thriller cover has a slit at the bottom, right at the seam where the record slides back into the album.  Great sounds, great collectibles.  This set would fit nicely into any record collection, mot to mention Michael Jackson collection.  The man was a little out there, but no one can deny his abilities!
