80s TV Shows are Still the Best of the Best After all These Years

The 80s was a great time for some of the most memorable television shows in history. While TV shows today come and go very quickly, it seemed 80s TV shows hung around for years and years. Thus, some of the most popular are still remembered and often even still replayed today.

MacGyver

In a time where the characters needed to capture the viewers in a big way, MacGyver fit the bill. This amazing character could get himself out of even the most dangerous situations using common items like a paper clip and piece of gum. Amazingly entertaining and full of the excitement 80s TV show viewers required, this show was a huge hit and is still referenced today.

The Cosby Show

Almost everyone who grew up watching 80s TV shows loved The Cosby Show. This show ran for years and years, never growing stale. As ideal family programming it attacked commonly family and parenting issues, in a fun and comical manner.

Miami Vice

Another exciting show in the 80s, Miami Vice not only got rave reviews for its content and humor but also for the fashion the characters brought to the era. Many people still think of the white suit jacket Don Johnson famously sported in the show when they think of 80s fashion.

Who’s the Boss – The First Season 1984-1985

Alyssa Milano got her start on Who's the Boss. she's all grown up now and recently engaged. Who's the Boss offers yet more Classic 80s TV viewing and it is quite a wholesome television series.

Who's the Boss is a TV show about Tony Micelli, a former major-league baseball player, played by Tony Danza and his daughter Samantha, played my Alyssa Milano.

The two arrive at the Connecticut household of executive Angela Bower, where Tony has taken a job as live-in housekeeper. the housekeeper, Angela Bauer, the career-woman, their kids Samantha and Jonathon, and Mona, Angela's man-crazy mother.

Angela is uptight and obsessed with her work. Her son Jonathan is shy and lacks self-esteem, and her mother, Mona, is a man-hungry vixen. Tony soon wins them over with his laid back style, and the Bowers soon begin to loosen up. Over time, romantic tensions begin to surface between Angela and Tony, and we see the children grow up.

Bea Arthur Lost Her Battle with Cancer Early Today

Another star of one of our favorite 80s sitcoms died earlier today. Estelle Getty passed away last year. Both were loved stars of the 80s comedy, The Golden Girls.

We will miss them both very much, but thankfully both women left us a wonderful show to watch over and over again.

Sorry, but we could not find any full episodes of The Golden Girls, Maude, or even All in the Family. That just goes to what classic TV shows they are.

Charles in Charge 1984/1985 – The First Season

People seem to either love Scott Baio or hate him. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. However, I am old enough to remember Scott being a great addition to the Happy Days cast just when the show needed some new life.

"Charles in Charge" had a pretty good premise for a show. And, as always, watching these great 80s television shows now, it's a real treat to see many of today's big stars making appearances before anybody even knew who they were.

Enjoy this latest edition to the many 80s television shows available on Hulu.Com

Scott Baio stars as Charles, a nineteen-year-old college student who, in exchange for room and board, serves as a live-in nanny to three energetic children. Helping Charles through his more trying moments is his irreverent friend Buddy Lembeck (Willie Aames).

A classic family comedy, "Charles in Charge" remains a popular series for all audiences as well as a cultural touchstone for a generation of fans who wanted nothing more than for Scott Baio to be in charge of their days and their nights.

This is Frickin' Sweet!

Just about every episode of Family Guy makes fun of the 80s.

This one is not only no exception, but from the Bryan Adams Rip-Off, and the Men Without Hats dance at the party, to the appearance by Megatron from The Transformers, this one is fully funny and an excellent example of what makes the 80s such good material for comedy!
