Monsters of Rock LA Coliseum 1988

Monsters of Rock 1988 LA Coliseum Headlined by Van Halen, included acts Dokken, Metallica, Scorpions and Kingdom Come

I found this video on YouTube. I had totally forgotten about this. All day. 9 hours of rock n' roll. July 24th, 1988 at The LA Coliseum.

Hot weather, booze. ladies in 80's clothes and makeup, guys dressed in spandex. Loud music all day in the LA sun! Well, you get the idea. Enjoy!

I was there that day. Metallica barely gets through one song before the crowd of 100,000 plus starts rioting throwing chairs and gates towards the stage.

Yea, Metallica was awesome, but I think people were just too drunk and excited to contain themselves.

Anyway, the video and audio here are terrible, but I must point out that the Scorpions performance that day was brilliant as always. And Van Halen with Sammy Hagar was pretty good too. And I had a great vantage point just above field level on the side of the stadium.

add a little whiplash in front of 100,000 LA metal heads with stupid promoters who think that chairs should be on the floor and a riot almost breaks out. Chairs and barricades go a flyin!!!

An elaborate rock product with full sets from each band visiting 25 cities...

Monsters Of Rock 1988 Documentary (Van Halen, Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions, and Kingdom Come) the most awesome era of music ever!
